Two valuable services we offer to faculty and staff at UNT are vehicle rentals to use when attending university functions or conducting university business, and maintenance of UNT's fleet of vehicles.

Click on the corresponding tab in the chart at the bottom of this page for information related to your needs.

When using a UNT vehicle, please abide by all relevant laws and UNT policies, including the following:

  • Do not leave a vehicle unattended with the engine running.
  • Do not text and drive.
  • Do not talk on your cell phone while driving, unless you use a hands-free method.
  • Do not leave your keys in an unattended vehicle. If you leave keys in a vehicle and it is stolen, insurance providers may deny any claims.

Routine maintenance and service are provided on a first come, first served basis. Emergency and safety issues will take first priority. If the service or repair needed presents a safety issue, do not operate the vehicle and call us immediately.

To schedule service, call the shop at 469-921-5881 or 940-465-1256, or Automotive Supervisor Jacob Toledo-Ruiz at 940-465-1188. Have the vehicle/equipment number and a detailed description of the service needed.

State law requires that a monthly mileage log is maintained for each traditional university vehicle.  These are due by the 10th business day of each month.  Once mileage logs become 45 days past due, it could lead to loss of privileges.

QR codeTo log your vehicle's miles at the end of each month, users will need to scan the QR code to the left using a smartphone or tablet. You will then log in using your UNT ID and DUO Mobile, which will direct you to a short, three-question form to enter the vehicle number, reporting month, and odometer reading. Submissions are then automatically routed to the Facilities department for state reporting.
For departments where one individual submits mileage for multiple vehicles, a web link option will also be available. Please note that while one person can submit for multiple vehicles, each submission must be completed separately (one vehicle per entry).

Mileage submissions are due by the 5th of each following month. Departments that have not submitted by the deadline will receive a reminder email. If submissions are still outstanding by the end of the day, the matter will be escalated.
