General maintenance and repair of UNT buildings, grounds and infrastructure are a big part of what we do. 

The Service Request form, found on our homepage or under the "Request Service" tab, can be filled out or you can contact Work Control directly at Work.Control@unt.edu or 940-565-2700.

Hosting an event on campus? We support that!

Our staff aims to help with all campus needs. We typically receive advance notice for camps and special events that confirm space needs through UNT's events management team. If you aren't sure or you are hosting an event that doesn't require assistance from the events management team, please feel free to create a work order to let us know about your event. This will help ensure we have adequate cleaning staff on hand following your event. We would appreciate at least a week's advance notice, but realize this is not always possible. Your partnership is appreciated!

Maintenance Teams

Custodial maintenance

Our Custodial team provides daily cleaning and sanitization services for UNT classrooms, offices, performance venues, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and other common use areas. Please note that we cannot clean individual office desks and some areas that are considered for private or personal use.

Grounds maintenance

Our Grounds team maintains UNT's grassy areas, landscape beds, trees, irrigation, areas near roadways, parking lots and campus buildings, and recreational sports fields. They are also called upon to help with snow/ice clean up, maintain concrete or hardscape, pressure washing, pest control, animal control, recycling and trash. For any other type of maintenance, please consult with our Work Control team or fill out a Service Request because there may be a fee associated with that need.

Our Grounds team takes great pride in their work and UNT is consistently designated as a Bee Campus USA (in association with our Bee Campus Committee), an Audubon Bird Campus (in association with our Bird Campus Committee), and a Tree Campus USA with the help of Grounds' dedication and efforts.

Additional services that require billing

There are some additional services that departments can request and that require a fee. When in doubt, please reach out to our Work Control group - they are able to assign service tech to your area and let you know what can be done as part of our routine maintenance and what requires a fee.

  • Service and maintenance of department-owned equipment will be charged to that department/area
  • Services and maintenance of auxiliary buildings and support systems will be charged to the owners of the building or space
  • Equipment that is not part of the building system for which Facilities has full operating control, even if it was installed at the time of construction must have repairs, maintenance or replacement paid for by the area that owns/controls that equipment
  • Renovations or new construction requests must first go through our Space Planning & Management team for approval and confirmation of funds available from the requesting area
