The city of Denton is renovating Chestnut Street and Avenue D starting on May 12, 2025. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the summer term.

Chestnut Street and Avenue D will be repaved by the city of Denton from Monday, May 12, through the end of the summer term. This work is taking place to finish utilities work that began in the summer of 2024 and to repave the new road. Chestnut Street will be closed from Avenue C to Avenue D and Avenue D will be closed from Mulberry Street to Chestnut Street.Map showing Avenue D will be closed from Mulberry to Chestnut, and Chestnut will be closed from Ave D to Ave C. Additionally, when exiting North Texas Blvd onto Sycamore and Chestnut, those streets are now dead ends and will require a turn around. Use Highland Street to turn left onto Avenue C, which will bypass the construction.
