Map showing the north bound on ramp off North Texas Boulevard is permanently closed

Be aware that TxDOT is closing the northbound on-ramp to I-35E at North Texas Boulevard permanently at 9 p.m. today, Feb. 5.

You can find a map below that will help you identify alternate routes to access the highway with the closing of this ramp as it will affect exiting the university to go north on the interstate, as well as anyone who uses the on-ramp when exiting the university to drive southbound toward Fort Worth on I-35W.

Alternative route for accessing I-35W southbound:
  • From North Texas Boulevard, take a right onto the I-35E frontage road.
  • Continue for roughly a mile and a half to the West Oak Street intersection.
  • Take a left onto West Oak Street, crossing under the I-35 highway.
  • Turn left and continue on the opposing frontage road.
  • The entrance to I-35W southbound is about a mile down that road.

Alternative route for accessing I-35E northbound:
  • From North Texas Boulevard, take a right onto the I-35E frontage road.
  • Continue for roughly two miles.
  • Be aware that I-35E northbound traffic will be exiting prior to the entrance ramp to access I-35.
Please use caution and stay alert for new travel patterns and lane configurations during this ongoing state project for I-35 improvement. Visit DriveTexas.org for the latest TxDOT road closures on this project and others.
