The UNT Safety Walk is a collaboration led by the Facilities Department in partnership with the Student Government Association, the UNT Police Department and others on campus.

Volunteers from across campus are welcome to participate in this event, which includes a walk-through of the various areas of the main campus and Discovery Park. The 2023 Safety Walk starts at 6:30 pm on Nov. 30. Volunteers will meet in Lot 26, the faculty/staff lot just west of the Music Practice buildings. From there, everyone will be divided into groups that walk their zones to assess lighting, sidewalk conditions and any other safety hazards.

Our Facilities team leader will ensure work orders are submitted for issues that need to be addressed immediately and will document any issues that require more research or assessment.

Depending on the number of volunteers, the event should last about an hour to an hour and a half.
